Weiku do Brasil at Osterfest 2025: celebrating the traditions of Pomerode!
Hello, friends of the Weiku community! Today we’re excited to talk about a very special event that takes place in Pomerode — the city where our headquarters is located and one that our company proudly supports.

In 2025, Weiku do Brasil is proud to join the 17th edition of Osterfest, the largest Easter celebration in Brazil, held in Pomerode. The event honors Easter traditions preserved for over 160 years by descendants of German immigrants who arrived in Pomerode in the 19th century.
This year, the festival pays tribute to the traditional technique of dyeing eggshells with natural pigments, known as Eierkraut, which uses the “Erva do Ovo” (Egg Herb) to give the eggs a vibrant purple color. Both the world’s largest decorated egg and the world’s largest Easter tree — recognized by the Guinness World Records — will be featured highlights of the celebration.
Running from February 27 to April 20, from Thursday to Sunday, Osterfest is known for its diverse programming that blends the best of German traditions with the warm and festive atmosphere of one of Brazil’s most charming towns.
Weiku do Brasil, with its strong commitment to culture and community, could not miss the opportunity to support an event that so beautifully represents the spirit of Pomerode.
As a sponsor, Weiku reaffirms its commitment to preserving traditions and supporting events that promote regional culture and identity. For us, supporting Osterfest is more than just a marketing initiative — it’s a gesture of appreciation and respect for the history and heritage that are so closely tied to our German roots.
We also believe that supporting local cultural events is essential to keeping historical memory alive and boosting local tourism, commerce, and the economy.

If you haven’t experienced Osterfest yet, 2025 is the perfect time to do so. The program features over 30 attractions, including egg painting workshops, performances by folk groups, traditional competitions, an amusement park, mascots Fritz and Frida Hase, pony rides, and cookie and craft workshops. On Saturdays at 6 p.m., the theatrical play “Vida” will be performed at the Pomerode Municipal Theater.

Weiku do Brasil invites everyone to join in this celebration, which promises unforgettable moments for the whole family.
